For the FFW

Weight circuit for bone loading and muscle strength

Do your goals include having a strong body. Perhaps you have goals for travel, gardening,
grandchildren minding. Don’t let your body decline in functional strength as you age.

This is a weight circuit designed for strength and bone loading by our exercise physiologists and physiotherapists. Technique training will be included and the classes are closely supervised by ourexercise professionals to ensure that you are maintaining your strength and are getting adequate bone loading. The weight you lift will be individualized so you are challenged but not injured

Functional Fitness Training

These classes are designed for strength and body balance training to bring you to a new level of strength and fitness Balance and control is our focus. All the exercises are in standing while the participant pulls or pushes cables attached to weights, resistance bands, lifts dumb bells and perform lunges and squats with the legs.

Functional Fitness will be run as a circuit class. There are many reps of exercises in a class and you are sure to have a sore butt after Unlike high intensity circuit exercise classes each rep of an exercise is controlled and slower. That precision of movement makes it more challenging.

Barre Pilates classes

Up the tempo with Agility Barre classes. These classes are a mix of Pilates, Ballet and aerobics and are designed for a great work out with plenty of leg and butt burn. Our 2 physiotherapists Hannah and Martina will be instructing these classes Hanna has been taking senior dance classes at the Queensland ballet studios for some time as a dancer. Now that she has graduated as a physiotherapist we are privileged to have her on our staff
instructing these classes. Martina has trained in Barre and does a wide range of exercise – Pilates, yoga and Barre to keep fit and is sure to give you a good workout.

Group Reformer classes (Silver Pilates)

These Group classes are conducted on the Pilates Reformer ( Trap table and Wunda chair) to help
enhance general strength, core strength, flexibility and some gentle bone loading. Exercises are
suitable for over 50s with the classes designed by our physiotherapists and exercise physiologists.
