Johanna (Jo) Kaighin

  • PHYSIOTHERAPIST Mst Phty Std, BSc Hons (BIOMEDICAL SCIENCE)

Jo obtained her Master of Physiotherapy Studies from the University of Queensland over a decade ago.  She met Jenny Birckel during her physiotherapy training and was won over by the effectiveness of the Pilates method as a comprehensive rehabilitation tool.

Since that time Jo has moved around Australia and Overseas, gaining experience in a variety of physiotherapy settings including musculoskeletal private practice, rural hospital work, and even some volunteer work with Lao rugby.  Before kids, Jo ran her own successful physiotherapy business. She split her time between private practice in a medical center and working directly with a Rio Tinto mine to implement injury prevention strategies, triage, and treatment.  The Rio Tinto pit crunched the numbers and found that by implementing the prevention strategies and having onsite treatment and triage, they significantly reduced the number of workers compensation claims.

Jo was a keen cyclist and rower, and played social touch football, Oztag, and indoor netball before she had kids… but plans to get back into cycling one day soon.  Jo enjoys solving a problem and would love to use her experience to help you achieve your goals.
